These are exciting times for Midtown and our city, and by any measure, 2018 was a record-breaking year. This year saw the completion of more major development projects than ever before with many more projects on the way. Thousands of new jobs were announced in Midtown, an average of 100 new residents are moving to Midtown each week, and we welcomed an estimated 6+ million visitors to our district in 2018. Whether by foot, scooter, e-bike or rideshare, Midtown is on the move.

Growth and investment in Midtown show no signs of slowing down, but these statistics alone will not define Midtown’s success. Cities are about people, and successful cities bring people together. It’s the quality and variety of these interactions and experiences that define the personality of the city and ultimately, its success. This is the exceptional urban experience we seek to deliver every day.

This annual progress report shows how Midtown Alliance, the Midtown Improvement District and our partners are working toward exceptional—because why be satisfied with anything less? At the heart of this momentum is the work of committed staff, volunteers and partners who have a hand in everything we do. We are grateful for the productive partnerships we enjoy with the staff and leadership of the City of Atlanta, our state and regional economic development and transportation partners, Midtown’s growing community of arts and cultural attractions, and our thriving institutions of higher-ed and innovation. We are profoundly grateful to the thousands of residents, businesses, students and volunteers who have worked hard to make Midtown what it is today, and the thousands of newcomers who give us the ultimate validation by planting their flags in Midtown each year.

We are all part of the team building Midtown’s future. We appreciate your continued support in getting there.
